Gulf Oil India Tv Ad featuring MS Dhoni

Gulf Oil broke into 2012 with a TVC as the centerpiece of a new Gulf multimedia campaign. The interesting TVC features our brand ambassador and the Captain of the Indian cricket team, MS Dhoni along with an adorable kid, Cheeku, and a mischievous dog. The briskly paced TVC has an engaging story line and builds on a vehicle owner’s love for his / her vehicle (whether a bike / car / truck), ending with a memorable message – Those who love their vehicles use Gulf Engine oils! This campaign has met both their objectives – it has established Mahinder Singh Dhoni as the face of the Gulf brand and has also anchored theGulf brand in the viewers mind by taking a slightly offbeat, humorous route in its storyline. The attempt was to bring alive (draws) from the emotional rather than rational by providing a quaint ‘getback’ to a problem that is quintessentially Indian and something that everybody owning a vehicle has been vexed by!” The advertisement was made by DDB, theGulf agency of record, with Thumbnail Pictures as the production house. The media plan was made and executed by Mudra Max, the Media buying arm of DDB in India.
